Hi Everyone,
It takes about a minute to archive your old emails, and archiving can make Outlook run better and faster, like I did in the 70’s.
Archiving is fairly painless, and like I said, it can make Outlook run better for you. Also: you can search your archive, and restore old emails, so even if you’re a pack rat (I’m looking at you, Bill), you can archive without losing anything. Do it today! Here’s how:
In Outlook:
- Click the File tab
- Click Cleanup tools
- Click Archive
- Choose the highest-level folder (for instance, for Bill it would be “bturner@nationaltheatre.com“)
- Choose an “archive items older than” date
- [Choose an archive file] <- usually Outlook will choose this for you
- Click OK
Once you click “OK,” you can click on the Home tab. If you look at the bottom of the Outlook window, you may see Outlook doing its archiving work. This may take anywhere from several minutes, to a few hours, depending on how much is being archived.
That’s it! If I haven’t mentioned this before: please do this, then let Bill know you’ve done it.
Thanks! If you have any questions, let Bill know. If you’d like help with this, or would like Bill to do it for you, go to NTCHelp.net and put in a ticket.
Sincerely,
Former Astronaut, Cyborg and Action Figure Steve Austin
p.s. While you’re cleaning things up, go ahead and empty your deleted items folder. Thanks 🙂
